Manuscript preparation and submission requirements
Authors should prepare manuscripts in accordance with the journal’s academic, technical, ethical and metadata requirements. Complete author information, institutional affiliations, country or region and corresponding author email are required for publication and indexing transparency.
General Requirements
European Scientific e-Journal accepts scholarly manuscripts that correspond to the journal’s aim and scope, meet academic standards and comply with the journal’s editorial and publication ethics policies.
Before submission, authors should ensure that the manuscript:
- corresponds to the subject areas of the journal;
- presents original scholarly contribution;
- includes clear academic structure;
- follows the IMRaD structure where applicable;
- follows APA 7 or another format accepted by the Editorial Office;
- contains complete author and affiliation information;
- includes the email address of the corresponding author;
- follows appropriate citation and reference standards;
- complies with the journal’s publication ethics, originality and peer review policies;
- has not been published elsewhere in the same or substantially similar form without disclosure.
Manuscripts that do not correspond to the journal scope, lack academic structure, contain incomplete author information or raise ethical concerns may be returned for correction or rejected before peer review.
Accepted Manuscript Types
European Scientific e-Journal considers the following types of scholarly manuscripts:
- original research articles;
- review articles;
- theoretical articles;
- methodological studies;
- case studies;
- analytical research reports;
- conference-based scholarly articles, provided that they undergo editorial assessment and peer review.
Original research articles should normally follow the IMRaD structure: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion. Theoretical, methodological, review and analytical manuscripts may use an adapted structure if it is logical, academically justified and suitable for the topic.
Manuscript File Format
The manuscript should be submitted as a Microsoft Word file, preferably in Word 2016 or a newer version.
The manuscript file should be editable and should not be submitted only as a PDF file unless the Editorial Office specifically requests or permits this for a particular purpose.
Page and Text Formatting
The recommended technical formatting of the manuscript is as follows:
- page margins: 2.5 cm on all sides;
- font: Garamond;
- font size: 12 pt;
- line spacing: 1.2;
- editable Word document format;
- tables, figures and appendices clearly numbered and referenced in the text.
The Editorial Office may request technical correction if the manuscript format prevents proper editorial screening, peer review or publication preparation.
Manuscript Language
Manuscripts may be submitted in English or in another language accepted by the Editorial Office for a particular issue, collection or publication project.
If the article is written in a language other than English, the author information, article title, abstract and keywords must be provided both in English and in the language of the article.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is written clearly and is suitable for academic publication. The Editorial Office may request language correction, proofreading or stylistic revision if the manuscript cannot be properly evaluated or published in its submitted form.
Language correction is not a substitute for scholarly quality, originality or compliance with the journal’s editorial requirements.
Manuscript Structure
A manuscript submitted to European Scientific e-Journal should normally include the following elements:
- full author information;
- title of the article;
- abstract;
- keywords;
- abbreviations and their definitions, where applicable;

- Scopus Author ID, where available.
The information should be complete, accurate and suitable for publication metadata, indexing and scholarly identification.
Number of Authors
A manuscript should normally have up to four authors.
A manuscript with more than four authors may be considered if the number of authors is justified by the research design, data collection, institutional collaboration or substantial contribution of each author.
The Editorial Office may request a contributorship statement for manuscripts with several authors or where the authorship structure requires clarification.
Author Names
The manuscript must include the full name of each author.
Author names should be written consistently and should correspond to the form used by the author in academic publications, institutional profiles or ORCID records where applicable.
The order of authors must be agreed by all co-authors before submission. Any change in authorship after submission must be explained to the Editorial Office and approved by all affected authors.
Author Affiliation Details
Each author must provide complete institutional affiliation details.
Affiliation information should include:
- institution name;
- department, faculty, laboratory, centre or unit, where applicable;
- city;
- country or region;
- institutional email or author email where applicable.
The affiliation must identify the institution with which the author is associated in relation to the submitted research.
If an author is independent and does not have an institutional affiliation, this should be clearly stated as “Independent Researcher” together with city and country or region.
Incomplete affiliations may delay editorial processing or publication.
Corresponding Author
Each manuscript must identify one corresponding author.
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the Editorial Office during submission, editorial screening, peer review, revision, acceptance and publication preparation.
The manuscript must include the email address of the corresponding author. This email address may be included in the published article or article metadata to support scholarly communication, indexing transparency and reader contact.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors:
- approve the submitted manuscript;
- agree with the order of authors;
- approve the final version before publication;
- understand the journal’s publication ethics and originality requirements;
- disclose conflicts of interest, funding and other required information.
ORCID and Scopus Author ID
Authors are encouraged to provide ORCID identifiers where available.
ORCID helps identify authors accurately, distinguish researchers with similar names and improve the quality of indexing, attribution and academic metadata.
Authors may also provide Scopus Author ID where available.
ORCID and Scopus Author ID are recommended but not mandatory unless required for a specific publication project, repository or indexing process.
Title
The title should clearly reflect the content, subject and academic focus of the manuscript. It should be informative, concise and suitable for indexing, citation and search.
The recommended maximum length of the title is 150 characters.
The title should not be misleading, promotional or excessively broad. It should correspond to the actual argument, data, method or research problem discussed in the article.
If the article is written in a language other than English, the title must be provided both in English and in the language of the article.
Abstract
The manuscript should include an abstract that summarises the relevance of the topic, research object, purpose and objectives, main methods, theoretical or literature basis, main results and scholarly contribution of the article.
The recommended abstract length is 800–2500 characters.
The abstract should be clear, informative and suitable for indexing. It should not contain unsupported claims, undefined abbreviations, references, footnotes or promotional statements.
If the article is written in a language other than English, the abstract must be provided both in English and in the language of the article.
Keywords
The manuscript should include keywords that reflect the subject, field, method and main concepts of the article.
Authors should normally provide 4–12 keywords or key phrases.
Keywords should include terms used in the article text and should support indexing and search. They should not repeat only the words already present in the title.
If the article is written in a language other than English, keywords must be provided both in English and in the language of the article.
Abbreviations
If the manuscript uses abbreviations, a list of abbreviations and their full forms should be provided after the keywords or at another appropriate place in the manuscript.
Abbreviations should be used only where they are necessary and clear for the reader.
Introduction
The Introduction should present the relevance of the topic, object of the study, purpose and objectives, main research methods, key literature or researchers used as a basis, and the intended scholarly or practical significance of the results.
The recommended length of the Introduction is approximately 15–40 lines, depending on the article type and scope.
The Introduction should clearly lead the reader to the research problem, aim or central argument of the manuscript.
Methods or Methodology
The Methods or Methodology section should describe the research methods used by the author.
Where applicable, the section should first describe general scientific methods and then specialised methods relevant to the academic field of the manuscript.
Each method should be explained according to the principle:
- brief description of the method;
- how the method is used in the study.
The Methods section should be detailed enough to allow reviewers and readers to understand how the research was conducted and how conclusions were obtained.
Literature Review or Theoretical Background
The Literature Review is intended to describe the sources, academic context and theoretical basis of the research.
Sources may be discussed individually or grouped by research direction, academic school, topic, method or problem area.
Each significant source or group of sources should be described according to the principle:
- brief description of the content or argument;
- reason for including the source in the study or reference list.
The Literature Review should not be a mechanical list of publications. It should explain how the cited literature supports the research problem, methodology, analysis or discussion.
Results, Main Analysis or Main Body
The Results section or main body of the manuscript should present the main findings, analysis, argument or research results.
The section may be divided into several logical subsections with clear headings.
Major sections or subsections should include short interim conclusions where appropriate. Such conclusions may begin with “Thus,” or a similar phrase if this helps to summarise the logic of the analysis.
The main body should distinguish clearly between the author’s own findings and cited sources.
Discussion
The Discussion should interpret the results, explain their significance, compare them with previous research where appropriate and identify questions for further scholarly discussion.
The recommended length of the Discussion is approximately 15–30 lines, depending on the article type and scope.
The Discussion may include limitations of the study, unresolved questions, theoretical implications, practical implications or directions for further research.
Conclusion
The Conclusion should summarise the interim results and the overall results of the study.
The recommended length of the Conclusion is approximately 20–40 lines, depending on the article type and scope.
The Conclusion should not simply repeat the abstract or introduction. It should provide a final synthesis of the article’s argument, results and scholarly contribution.
References and Citation Style
The manuscript must include a reference list.
The reference list must contain at least 10 sources. Authors are recommended to include 15 or more relevant sources where this is appropriate for the topic and article type.
APA 7 is the recommended citation and reference style for European Scientific e-Journal. APA 6 may be accepted during a transitional period if it is used consistently.
If the manuscript cannot be fully formatted according to APA at the initial submission stage, authors may submit references in a clear numbered format for preliminary assessment. In this case, references should be arranged alphabetically and numbered, and in-text citations should refer to the reference list using square brackets, for example: [2] or [4; 6].
The final accepted manuscript may require correction of references according to the journal’s editorial requirements before publication.
References should allow readers, reviewers and indexing services to identify the cited sources. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of bibliographic information.
References should include, where applicable:
- author name(s);
- year of publication;
- title;
- journal or book title;
- volume, issue and page range;
- publisher;
- DOI;
- URL;
- date of access for online sources where necessary.
Fabricated references, inaccurate citations, excessive irrelevant citation, citation manipulation and citation of sources not actually consulted by the author are not acceptable.
Tables
Tables should be numbered separately.
The table title should be placed above the table on the left and should follow the format: “Table 1. Title of the table”.
All tables must be mentioned in the main text, for example: “(Table 1)”.
Tables may be placed in the Appendix or, where this improves readability, within the main text. The placement should be consistent and should not interfere with the logical structure of the manuscript.
Figures and Illustrations
Figures, illustrations, photographs, maps, diagrams and other visual materials should be numbered separately.
The title of a figure should be placed under the figure and centred. The recommended format is: “Figure 1. Title of the figure”.
All figures must be mentioned in the main text, for example: “(Figure 1)”.
Figures may be placed in the Appendix or, where this improves readability, within the main text.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that visual materials do not infringe third-party rights. If permission is required for reuse of third-party material, authors must obtain it before publication and provide confirmation to the Editorial Office if requested.
If a figure, table or illustration has been adapted from another source, the source must be cited.
Originality and Plagiarism
Submitted manuscripts must be original scholarly works.
The manuscript should normally demonstrate at least 70% text originality during preliminary editorial screening.
This percentage is a technical benchmark and is not a substitute for editorial judgement. A manuscript with a technically acceptable originality percentage may still be rejected if it contains plagiarism, unethical borrowing, duplicate publication, improper citation or insufficient scholarly originality.
Authors must not submit manuscripts containing plagiarism, unattributed borrowing, inappropriate paraphrasing, translated copying, duplicate publication, redundant publication, fabricated sources or self-plagiarism without disclosure.
All manuscripts may be checked for text similarity and originality. Similarity reports are interpreted in context by the Editorial Office or responsible editor.
Authors should review the Plagiarism, Originality and Duplicate Publication Policy before submission.
Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship must be limited to individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the conception, design, research, analysis, interpretation, drafting or revision of the manuscript.
All listed authors must approve the submitted version and the final version accepted for publication.
The journal does not accept guest authorship, honorary authorship, gift authorship or ghost authorship.
Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria may be acknowledged in a separate acknowledgement section with their permission.
Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any potential conflict of interest that may influence or appear to influence the research, interpretation, writing or publication of the manuscript.
Conflicts of interest may include financial, institutional, personal, academic, political or professional relationships.
If there are no conflicts of interest, authors should include a statement such as: “No conflict of interest was declared by the author(s).”
Funding Statement
Authors must disclose funding sources, grants, institutional support or other financial or organisational support related to the submitted work.
If no funding was received, authors may include a statement such as: “This research received no external funding.”
Funding information should be accurate and should not misrepresent the source, role or influence of the funder.
Ethical Approval and Consent
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research complies with applicable ethical, legal and institutional requirements.
Research involving human participants, personal data, interviews, surveys, sensitive information or other ethically significant materials may require ethical approval, informed consent or institutional permission.
Where relevant, authors should include an ethical approval or consent statement in the manuscript.
If ethical approval was not required, this should be explained where appropriate.
Use of AI-assisted Tools
AI-assisted tools may be used for language editing, technical assistance or limited support when their use does not replace author responsibility, scholarly judgement or original research contribution.
AI tools must not be listed as authors.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, references, data, argumentation and ethical compliance of the manuscript.
If AI-assisted tools were used in a way that materially affected the preparation of the manuscript, authors should disclose this use in the manuscript or to the Editorial Office.
AI-generated references, fabricated sources, unsupported claims, manipulated data or misleading content are not acceptable.
Submission Process
Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s official registration form or by another method indicated by the Editorial Office.
Authors should provide all required author, affiliation, contact and manuscript information during submission.
Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance or publication.
After submission, the manuscript undergoes initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the basic requirements may be sent for peer review.
Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass initial editorial screening may be sent for peer review according to the journal’s Peer Review Policy.
European Scientific e-Journal uses a double-blind peer review model. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts according to relevance, originality, scholarly contribution, methodology, argumentation, structure, references and ethical compliance.
The final editorial decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or responsible editor.
Revisions
If revision is requested, authors should submit a revised manuscript and, where required, a response explaining how reviewer and editorial comments have been addressed.
Failure to submit a revised manuscript within the requested period may result in withdrawal of the manuscript from editorial consideration.
A revised manuscript may be assessed by the responsible editor or returned to reviewers for further review.
Acceptance and Publication
A manuscript may be accepted only after completion of editorial screening, peer review, revision where required, final editorial decision and technical preparation for publication.
After acceptance, the Editorial Office may request final files, corrected author details, metadata, publication forms, payment documentation where applicable or other information needed for publication.
Publication service charges, where applicable, are described on the Author Fees and Publication Charges page. Payment does not influence editorial decisions.
