New Book Published: Implementation of Innovations in Sociology
The European Institute for Innovation Development has published the book Implementation of Innovations in Sociology: Experience of the Czech Republic by Alexander Buychik. The edition was released in 2026 by Tuculart Edition and the European Institute for Innovation Development in Ostrava and Opava, Czechia.
The book presents the development of sociology in Czechia from the post-Czechoslovak transition to a mature and internationally recognised discipline by 2025. It analyses the institutional development of Czech sociology, its principal achievements, major schools of thought, and leading figures who shaped the discipline.
Special attention is given to key research areas, including social inequality, education, gender, family and ageing, religion, housing, migration, public opinion, methodology, and crisis research. The publication is available in English as a free PDF and serves as a useful academic reference for researchers, university staff, and participants of international internship programmes at the Institute.
