Implementation of Innovations in Economics: Experience of the Czech Republic

Implementation of Innovations in Economics: Experience of the Czech Republic

The edition presents a systematic overview of the development of contemporary Czech economic thought from 1993 to 2025. The book examines how Czech economics moved from post-Czechoslovak institutional reorganisation and transformation economics toward a mature, internationally integrated research field.

The publication analyses the main stages of Czech economic science, including the transformation period of the 1990s, the consolidation of research architecture in the 2000s, the internationalisation of the 2010s, and the contemporary phase of evidence-based policy and new economic challenges in 2020–2025. Special attention is given to the major schools of Czech economic thought, including transformation and institutional economics, monetary and macroeconomic research, labour economics, education economics, behavioural and experimental economics, public finance, taxation, innovation economics, and environmental economics.

The book also highlights leading figures of contemporary Czech economic thought and their contribution to the development of national and international research agendas. It may serve as a reference publication for researchers, university lecturers, students, and specialists interested in the evolution of economic science, innovation policy, and evidence-based public governance in Czechia.
