State Control Bodies in Field of Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products in Ukraine

This edition presents a monographic study of state control bodies in the field of quality and safety of agricultural products in Ukraine. The book examines the administrative and legal status of public administration bodies responsible for regulating, supervising and controlling agricultural product safety. Special attention is given to the relationship between food security, consumer protection, public health, environmental safety and the quality of agricultural production. The authors analyse the structure, tasks, powers and functions of Ukrainian state bodies involved in this sphere. The monograph considers the legislative basis for state control, including the regulation of food products, veterinary medicine, plant protection, land use, organic production and genetically modified organisms. A significant part of the study is devoted to the legal personality of officials and state inspectors exercising control and supervisory powers. The book also explores foreign experience and European approaches to the organisational and legal regulation of agricultural product quality and safety.
