History of Society and Democracy: Before New Epoch. 1st series. Book 1. Beginnings of Democracy in Early Civilizations
Buychik, A. (2021). History of Society and Democracy: Before New Epoch. 1st series. Book 1. Beginnings of Democracy in Early Civilizations. Ostrava-Hlučín: Anisiia Tomanek OSVČ.
The book presents a comprehensive study of the evolution of democratic ideas from the earliest civilizations to the threshold of modernity. Analysing political and social structures of Sumer, Babylon, Assyria, Egypt, India and China, the author demonstrates that democratic principles did not originate solely in Ancient Greece but appeared much earlier as embryonic forms of civic participation, social justice, and collective decision-making. Through an interdisciplinary synthesis of history, philosophy and political science, the book reconstructs the transformation from ancient communal governance and quasi-democratic institutions to the republican ideals of classical antiquity and the emergence of representative systems by the eighteenth century. This first volume of a seven-book series establishes the theoretical foundation for understanding democracy as an evolving global phenomenon shaped by cultural, economic and moral contexts
