Author Fees and Publication Charges

General Statement

European Scientific e-Journal is an open access journal published by the European Institute for Innovation Development. The journal provides free access to published scholarly materials for readers.

Submission and peer review are free of charge. Authors do not pay for manuscript submission, initial editorial screening or peer review.

Publication service charges may apply only to manuscripts that are accepted for publication after completion of editorial screening, peer review, revision where required and final editorial decision.

The table below summarises the fees and charges applied by European Scientific e-Journal.

The current publication service charge must be clearly stated before publication services are provided. If the journal updates its publication charges, the updated information should be published on this page or in the official author registration and publication materials.

Submission and Peer Review

Authors may submit manuscripts to European Scientific e-Journal without paying a submission fee.

Initial editorial screening is performed free of charge. At this stage, the Editorial Office or responsible editor assesses whether the manuscript corresponds to the journal scope, has sufficient academic structure, includes required author information and meets basic editorial and ethical requirements.

Peer review is also performed free of charge. Reviewers’ recommendations, editorial assessment and final editorial decisions are not connected to payment.

Publication Service Charge

A publication service charge may be requested only after a manuscript has passed editorial screening, peer review and final editorial acceptance.

The publication service charge covers publishing-related services, which may include:

• technical preparation of the article or issue;
• layout and formatting;
• publication on the journal website;
• preparation of article or issue metadata;
• inclusion in the journal archive;
• publication infrastructure and website maintenance;
• repository or indexing preparation where applicable;
• editorial communication related to final publication.

Payment of a publication service charge does not purchase acceptance of a manuscript. It relates only to publishing services provided after editorial acceptance.

Editorial Independence and Payment

Editorial decisions are independent from payment.

Payment status, publication service charges, discounts, waivers, institutional status or commercial considerations must not influence:

• initial editorial screening;
• reviewer selection;
• peer review reports;
• reviewer recommendations;
• revision requests;
• acceptance or rejection decisions;
• publication ethics assessment.

Rejected Manuscripts

Manuscripts rejected during initial editorial screening or after peer review are not charged a publication service charge.

If a manuscript is rejected, the author is not required to pay for submission, screening or peer review.

If an author withdraws a manuscript before final acceptance and before publication services have started, no publication service charge is normally applied.

Withdrawal After Acceptance

If an author withdraws an accepted manuscript after publication services have already started, the journal may apply administrative or service conditions depending on the stage of preparation and the agreement with the author.

Any such conditions should be communicated clearly to the author before publication services are provided.

Refunds

Refund conditions depend on the stage of publication preparation and the services already provided.

If publication services have not started, no publication service charge should normally be retained. If technical preparation, layout, metadata preparation, publication processing or other publishing services have already been performed, refund may be partial or unavailable depending on the circumstances.

Refund requests must be submitted to the Editorial Office in writing.

Discounts and Waivers

The publisher may, where appropriate, consider discounts, waivers or individual payment conditions. Such decisions are administrative and do not influence editorial assessment, peer review or acceptance decisions.

Authors should contact the Editorial Office if they need clarification regarding publication charges or payment conditions.

Payment and Documentation

Payment instructions are provided only after the manuscript has passed the relevant editorial stages and has been accepted for publication or prepared for final publication.

Authors should use only official payment instructions provided by the publisher or Editorial Office.

The Editorial Office may provide confirmation, invoice or other documentation where applicable.

Relation to Open Access

Publication charges, where applicable, are connected to publication services and do not create access barriers for readers.

Published articles of European Scientific e-Journal are made available in open access. Readers are not charged for access to published materials.
